Six weeks is only the beginning
The experience of the 200 young
people who have spent six weeks in Brazil, China and India is
only the start of their involvement with The Prime Minister’s
Global Fellowship programme. We work with young
people who are leaders in their community, who want to capitalise
on the energy and enthusiasm generated by their experiences and
continue sharing our message to a wide audience.
The PMGF alumni network have
committed to sharing their learning in their own communities
showing other how important it is to engage proactively with the
world around us.

When Fellows return to the UK, they are not
told what to say or what their message should be. It is their
message. Only through sharing their personal experiences and
reflections can the Fellows have the most impact and
credibility in helping people become more aware and
understanding the impact globalisation is having, and will have, on
our society and the challenges and opportunities created by it.
Fellows have communicated in various ways, writing news
articles, hosting workshops, talking to schools, art exhibitions,
recording songs, creating films. George, for
example, used his experience to establish a Cocoa
Partnership Youth Movement with Cadbury and Jon was
invited to the Backing Young Britain breakfast at Downing
Street this year.

PMGF Reunion 13-15 November 2009
The PMGF Reunion for 2008 Fellows, organised last year by
the Alumni Committee, was a huge success with Fellows coming
together to share and reflect on their
experiences communicating the key messages of the programme
one year on. Fellows gathered for three days in Birmingham to take
part in a weekend of various workshops and discussions about
culture, education, business and helped Fellows compare each
others' views and the importance of globalisation.

Fellows furthered their learning of international
cultures at the reunion, with workshops on dance and
music, debates about education and culture and guest speakers from
entrepreneurs and social media organisations inspiring and
focussing Fellows' minds on their role as Global Fellows.
All Fellows will be busy in the coming year and to find out more
about previous and upcoming events, please visit their Media and Events pages.
