Cadburys Curry Concoction

Once upon a time there was a man called Ammar

He was not very rich, didn’t even own a car,

He lived with his parents, his sister and his cat

He worked for Cadburys Adams, and he really loved that!

His job was not great; he collected the garbage at the end of the day

His uniform was ripped; it stank and was a dirty grey

But don’t worry folks, one day soon he will be rich

He will start dressing casually to work and will throw his old clothes in a ditch

One grim Thursday he came home and had a hot curry

There was football on TV, so he had to eat in a hurry

He wished he could eat curry all day and all night

That’s when an idea came into sight

Curry flavored gum, what an idea!

But how to tell Marcos? That was his only fear

So he gathered some courage and marched into his room

He told him his idea; it hit him like a tonne of bricks, BOOM

Ammar then assessed the feasibility

This required a bit of cost analysis agility

The product concept had to be defined

And oh, Ammar was out of his mind!

Stage 3-development of proposition

This would be better with a mathematical statistician

Industrial tests, product research

To find an audience Ammar was on a search

Once everything was done he wanted approval

He had a meeting to see if there was a refusal

Everything however went fine and dandy

Thus started the production of this great candy!

Stage 5 will see the launch of Ammar and his gum

Full commercialization will occur, and he won’t be glum!

The product will be launched and P.O.S produced

Ammar will make a lot it can be deduced...

A curry chewing gum, what an idea

But how much money, now there’s the fear

The ingredients, the packaging and marketing costs

We have to add together to ensure no loss

We can’t go crazy, incase it all goes wrong

As Marcus will be singing a very different song

The ingredients we’ve got from the cheapest supplier

But a high quality product is what we desire

The packaging needs to be appealing but concise

To ensure it’s not too big and costs the right price

The marketing department has a budget too

The amount they wish to spend we need to review

Each sections working will soon be complete,

And the idea should then officially become concrete

The calculations are in, and the numbers are good

The product will go ahead as we all thought it should

Market research involved work with IBOPE

They searched for consumers from a database hard copy

Consumers were then selected at random

On age, hobbies, dislikes, they received a memorandum

They were brought into a high-tech room

With a one way mirror and a microphone boom

6 young Brazilian consumers, a table and some food

While they talked we noted and we viewed

Many focus groups exist like this in the production line

Opinions are noted and integrated into design

Other groups were held for opinions over point of sales

To be sure, they even consulted the Prince of Wales

Now all opinion polls are complete

We can safely say that Cadburys will its competitors beat

For the product is an impulse buy and its marketing the best

And so Cadburys will stand the test

So after the consumers thought the gum was satisfactory

The final product was ready and sent to the factory

They have 1000 staff, working at a machine

Some boxed the gum, whilst others ensured everything was clean

The workers tried the curry gum at the designated tasting zones

They loved it so much they got on their mobile phones

Everyone they knew had to hear about this amazing flavor

A new sensation which they will forever savor

Logistics is the transport of the gum

Though import and exports is not very fun

A complicated procedure that needs planning and time

A very long ladder that they must climb

It leaves the factories in Lorries and trucks

On pallets of wood, its worth big bucks

To warehouses and retailers, where the goods are kept in stock

Then delivered by distributers against the clock

Box upon box in a variety of stores

Where consumers can purchase them and they can become yours

The logistic procedure from start to finish

Is to get the good to the consumer without letting sales diminish

Finally the gum was produced and ready to be sold

But how to entice consumers to buy? They had to be bold!

Their advertising was smart, like the gorilla and the drums

Kids craved the curry and begged their mums

Adams made sure their product was everywhere on the shelves

At the checkout were no competitors, just themselves

Sales soared and this meant the end of Marcos’ stress

The gum was a hit, who knew curry would be such a success?!

Questions of all shapes and sizes

Bring to the company a lot of surprises

One such problem regarding this new flavored gum

Is when it made a little girl swell up like a plum

It turns out though that they were mistaken

It was the cough medicine that she has taken

But even if the problem had been theirs

The team would have dealt with it, because their job is external and internal affairs

Our time at Cadburys has been such a delight

We’ve learned so much and gained a real insight

Cadburys chocolate is not the main core

The company owns various brands and many many more

We have learned all about their production of gum

Intelligent business people we wish to become

Their production, sales and marketing too

Even sections of the company we never knew

The office is colorful and quite inviting

The work was fun and really exciting

The people here were oh so great

Their speeches and friendliness we highly rate

We will remember this experience for ever and ever

Our memories well keep throughout whatever

Our two weeks here has just flown by

And we can’t believe its time to say… goodbye
