“I learnt how a company works. Simple as that.
Before going to Brazil I had an extremely naïve and basic
understanding of the roles and tasks which people must undertake to
make a business tick. I learnt that you can be a successful
business and a non-profit organisation at the same time. I’d never
heard of that concept before, and it really impressed me.”

of their thoughts and experiences.

Learning about global business was
amazing as I previously had no idea!
Getting to know every department
individually was great as well, and because they are such a small
company we really got to know the team. Visiting CSR projects was
the highlight for me, particularly visiting a public school which
rounded my view of the education system so much more.
1) Business is not just about
profits - many businesses really care about the community.
2) How important education is to
the development of a country. This is part of CUPs mission and
everyone we spoke to really felt this at the forefront of their
job.
3) I now know about the individual
department's role in a company and how they work together

I learnt that you can still have
an extremely successful business, and be a non-profit organisation
at the same time. I'd never heard of that concept before, and it
really impressed me, hearing about how they operate, and learning
about how operating in this fashion is beneficial in many
ways.

I also learnt that you can have a
good money making career, but balance it out with doing things for
other people. Taking part in aid missions and charity organisations
as well as having a full time job, is very manageable.
