Dear Cadbury
I would like to thank everyone at Cadbury
Adams for their time and kindness these past two weeks. Coming to
Brazil I knew absolutely nothing about business, let alone how huge
multinational corporations such as Cadbury operate. However after
the informative and interactive presentations we received from many
members of the Latin America team, I feel I have had a true insight
into the way global business happens.
One of my favorite experiences was playing
football with the children at Bate Bola (even though my football
skills were rather limited!) It was great to see the social
responsibility project and the impact it is having on the different
communities.
I enjoyed the friendly atmosphere in the
office and feel it was conducive to the work ethos and nature of
the company. The varied program made our time here very special and
I will never forget my time spent at Cadburys.
Thank you for having us!
Katy

Dear Ana,
My thoughts on the two week internship:
On the day of the start of the placement here
at Cadbury, I was amidst thoughts of walking into a working
environment which was a depiction of the conventional business,
with people crouched over their computers in their little cubicles
with stacks of paper in shelves. But to find the colourful entrance
of the Cadbury Office, with the drawings, made me re-think my
prejudiced ideas about Cadbury, but more than that to find that
there was a very relaxed atmosphere and complete approachability
between the peers and the company officials and the higher ranked
staff members with the younger and inexperienced was astonishing.
This was an eye opener, and made me re-think my views on business
environment.
To learn about the route of the product is
very interesting, and then to find that the company goes a step
forward and also predicts the amount of candies and sweets that the
company may be able to sell in the coming months, gives you an
insight into the amount of work involved in the Logistics and
Customer Service department. After that was the unforgettable trip
to the factory, that must be a big highlight of the trip as it
seemed to me, as if I was walking inside Willy Wonka’s Chocolate
Factory. It was amazing to see how a big slab of chewing gum can be
transformed in a matter of minutes into a small piece of Trident
Chewing Gum. Or to witness the steps involved in the treatment of
waste water, how biological compounds in the waste is first skimmed
out and then digested using a bacteria and then finally centrifuged
and then released back into the river cleaner than it was before
Cadbury took it from the river, or indeed in comparison to the
water present inside the river.
Lastly I would just like to thank Cadbury for
giving us the opportunity to do a two week internship in the
company in order to learn and understand how it works and also how
it helps and sustains the community around it. Thanks for letting
us have this most amazing and memorable experience.
Kind Regards,
Ammar
Dear Cadbury
I think that the Cadburys programme which you
put together was spot on. It included enough presentations and
information so that we learnt but also had fun activities and
excursions allowing us to relate to the presentations and therefore
memorize the information better. The staff were all extremely
friendly and welcoming and very helpful with anything we needed
such as directions and printings. My impression of the company in
Brazil and the office is wonderful. I think the office being open
and colorful, and the relaxed atmosphere really shows through the
employees. Everyone seems happy, motivated and eager to work
through this and therefore I believe it has the best outcome for
Cadburys. My highlight of the two weeks with Cadburys was the
bate bola projects. I loved the fact that Cadburys was taking an
active role in the community. All though it was only a small
difference the children at these projects were so happy and
grateful for the extra support they were getting. My second
highlight is defiantly the visit to the factory. Seeing the actual
gum in production was brilliant as I have never seen something like
this before. All the different machines and procedures seemed extra
complicated but very well set up. As I have a keen interest in
business and am going on to study it at university I found it
useful being able to apply my knowledge I already had to a real
company and gaining more knowledge. I therefore feel that the
experience at Cadbury will give me an advantage over others doing
the same course as me when at university.
