About

What is the Prime Minister's Global Fellowship?

The Prime Minister's Global Fellowship programme works with school and college leavers, youth community representatives and apprentices to give them a strong foundation in interacting with one of the major countries of the new global economy.

Every year in July and August we send 100 amazing young people to Brazil, China or India to investigate issues of culture, language, education and global enterprise.  The fully-funded six week journey is an investigation into the social, economic and environmental effects of globalisation and learning what a positive role we can play in the process.  The programme is split into three parts;

  • Two weeks language and cultural immersion
  • Two weeks in a local school and staying with a host family
  • Two weeks as the guest of a global company (including HSBC, Cadbury, Tata)

On their return all Fellows automatically become part of a network of active globally-minded young people in England with a role sharing

their experiences and learning on local and national platforms, to raise awareness of global issues.

Why get involved?

There is no doubt about it; we live, work, communicate and socialise in a world which is rapidly changing, where all aspects of life are becoming increasingly interdependent.  We are making a statement about the need for Britain's young generation to understand the opportunities and challenges for them in the new global economy and are providing them with a vehicle through which to communicate a new narrative to the general public.  We want to give young people a voice in what Britain needs to do in the future.

Interested in the world around you?  Investigate the social, economic and environmental effects of globalisation first hand.

Interested in people? Give yourself a chance to meet a wide range of other young people, both from home and abroad, and make life-long friends.

Interested in your local community?  Inspire others by turning your experience into relevant information for others in England

Interested in your future? Take part in a programme which provides you with the experience, skills and confidence to become a leader of the future.
