I planned to do a daily blog but the due to lack of sleep and the amount of things to do I may begin to do this every 5-7 days....However I will write a bit about the first two days in this great country, I'll be as brief and informative as possible, nobody appreciates a waffler. Arriving in China for th first time was quite a surreal experience, It's very high up on my very long list of places I'd like to visit during my life so actually stepping off the plane and seeing Chinese characters and seeing one of the most stunning airport terminals ever to be built was quite an experience. Took me a while for my brain to process what was going on...that says a lot because my brain is almost computer like, I felt like I needed extra RAM to process so may changes at once....
4 Hours of sleep later it was time to get some important info about our short term home. The Highlight of the day for me though was meeting Beijing Normal University Students. It was great to get a perspective of life for people our age group, They were two of kindest girls you could meet. From what they told us it seemed like life in China was a lot more difficult, at least education wise, fierce does not do the competition for university places justice, dog eat dog is more appropriate in my opinion. British kids can learn from that, we sometimes take our education for granted and even have the cheek to complain of it's difficulty! Can you imagine!?.... They should try learning 20,000 Chinese characters and I guarantee a lot of kids will begin to think that English education is about as hard as walking.
But hey, no one appreciates a waffler so this is the end of this blog entry....(if you've read up to this point.... I am very grateful)
Up next...Day 2 in the Chinese capital
Thanks for reading people
